Barron Trump’s Quick Thinking: FaceTime Call Leads to Police Rescue in London Assault Case

A woman in a London court recently shared a pretty intense story about how one of her friends stepped up in a major way during a terrifying moment. According to reports from Metro UK and covered by outlets like Fox News, she testified that Barron Trump—the 19-year-old son of President Donald Trump—ended up helping save her life after she FaceTimed him right in the middle of an alleged assault by her ex-boyfriend.

It happened back on January 18, 2025, just after 2 a.m. local time in east London. The woman (whose name is being kept private for obvious reasons) said her former partner, 22-year-old Matvei Rumianstev from east London, got jealous over her friendship with Barron and turned violent. She claimed he’d been abusive before—stuff like strangling her—and that things escalated to rape that night too.

She managed to call Barron on FaceTime, probably hoping for a casual chat since they’d been in touch. But the call connected at the worst time. It only lasted about 10 to 15 seconds, but Barron reportedly saw enough: the camera showed a ceiling at first, then screaming, a guy’s head popping in, and her crying while getting hit. He quickly hung up and called UK emergency services (999) instead of trying to intervene directly over the phone, which he later said was the smartest move to avoid making things worse.

In the recorded call played in court at Snaresbrook Crown Court, you can hear him telling the operator something like: “I just got a call from a girl I know. She’s getting beaten up… It’s really an emergency, please. I got a call from her with a guy beating her up.” He even gave them her address to get help there fast.

When police showed up, bodycam footage captured the moment she told them who the caller was: “I am friends with Barron Trump, Donald Trump’s son.” One officer was heard saying to another, “So apparently, this informant from America is likely to be Donald Trump’s son… She was on a Facetime with him when this assault happened, and he’s called us.”

To double-check, she called Barron back right there, and he confirmed: “I had someone call the police… that was the best thing I could do. I wasn’t going to call back and threaten things to him because that would just make the situation worse.”

During her testimony, she described how grateful she was, saying he “helped save my life” and that the timing of that call felt “like a sign from God at that moment.”

The case is still ongoing—Rumianstev has denied all the charges against him, which include assault, actual bodily harm, two counts of rape (one allegedly in November 2024 and the other on the night of the call), intentional strangulation, and perverting the course of justice. He’s also accused of pressuring her to drop the complaints.

It’s one of those stories that shows how a quick, level-headed decision from far away can make a real difference in someone’s life.

The White House was reached out to for any comment, but no further details came from there yet. The trial continues.
