In a glimpse into her life lately as 2026 gains speed, Katy Perry included two photos of herself with boyfriend Justin Trudeau, whom she began dating last summer.
In a carousel the singer shared to Instagram on February 10, Perry shared plenty of fashion-forward looks—wearing a strapless, glittery vibrant red look with a peplum skirt, in a beige business wear look, and a head-to-toe white ribbed set, for example—but also shots of food, herself and her 5-year-old daughter Daisy in the grass, and, yes, Trudeau.
In one photo, Perry and the former Canadian Prime Minister have ski gear on, with a mountainous landscape behind them. In another, the two are close together for a black-and-white photo taken during a meal.
Perry’s carousel comes under a month after her last high-profile appearance with Trudeau, when the two attended the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland on January 20. While there, the politician spoke about the importance of “soft power” at the Global Soft Power Summit, nodding to Perry by mentioning a recent “date with an American girl to a rooftop bar in Montréal,” where “she ordered a Jack and Coke.”
“The server kindly informed her that there was no more American alcohol, not just in that bar but anywhere in Montréal and probably anywhere across the entire country,” he added, noting that it was “an example of Canadians standing up for each other. That’s an example of soft power, being motivated to be there for each other at a time of stress, at a time of anxiety.”
Perry and Trudeau began dating last summer, not long after Perry’s split from Orlando Bloom, whom she was engaged to and together with for nearly a decade. “The only reason this turned into something real is because Justin has been so persistent,” a source told People. “She wasn’t looking to date when they first hung out, and she certainly wasn’t looking for a boyfriend.”
The relationship—which came as an “exciting surprise” for Perry amid her Lifetimes tour—flourished because “He’s shown her over and over again that he genuinely wants to see her,” the insider added. “He’s flown all over the world to spend time with her while she toured. She likes spending time with him.”
“She’s flattered that he’s made such a big effort and she’s excited to be dating him,” the source continued.
As for Trudeau, “He is a much happier person now,” an insider said. “Stresses are greatly diminished. And he is intrigued with Katy. They have fun together, laugh a lot, talk about everything.”
“They both have busy schedules but make time for each other and have a really strong connection,” a source told People. “Katy didn’t expect to fall for somebody so soon, but Justin checks all the boxes. He has a great sense of humor, he’s charming, and treats her with respect.”
A source told Us Weekly that the couple is “very smitten and into each other,” and that Perry is “really inspired” by Trudeau and “impressed by his accomplishments,” adding that Trudeau is “a great match for her.”
“Katy is really into it,” an insider said. “She’s very happy. She’s trying to keep it low-key, and they’ve spent a lot of private time together. She’s not looking to publicize this relationship.”
