Mendes and Gosling have been together since 2011.
Being an actor is not for the weak: Having to see your significant other in relationships with other people on the big screen can present quite the challenge. It appears the topic has been on Eva Mendes's mind, as she revealed the one and only co-star of Ryan Gosling's she has ever been jealous of.

Gosling, being romcom royalty, has built up quite the slate of famous on-screen kisses, from his stuck-in-the-rain moment with Rachel McAdams in The Notebook to his picturesque dancing-in-the-moonlight number with Emma Stone in La La Land and his whirlwind romance with Michelle Williams in Blue Valentine. To these, Mendes doesn't bat an eye. She does, however, raise an eyebrow at Gosling's CGI friend Rocky, voiced by James Ortiz, in Project Hail Mary.

“His only costar I’ve ever been jealous of…Rocky,” Mendes joked in the comments of an Instagram post about the forthcoming movie. “They spent wayyy too much time together. They even got each others rings. WTF!!?” she concluded, adding a winking emoji and several red hearts.

In the sci-fi film, Gosling plays Ryland, a science teacher who wakes up alone on a spaceship far from Earth. He discovers a mysterious substance is killing the sun and may overtake his planet next; an unexpected friendship—ahem, with Rocky—may be the key to the solution.

While the flick is sure to be packed with adventure, it's pretty safe to say no journey has been as impactful to Gosling's life than his relationship with Mendes. The two first met in August 2011 on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines and quickly struck up a romance. The incredibly private couple welcomed their first daughter, Esmeralda, in September 2014, followed by a second, Amada, in 2016. They are believed to have gotten married in 2022.

In a rare and memorable moment, Gosling shouted out his better half while accepting the Oscar for Best Actor in 2017. "While I was singing and dancing and playing piano ... my lady was raising our daughter, pregnant with our second, and trying to help her brother with his battle with cancer," he said in his gushing speech.
