The heartache just keeps going for Savannah Guthrie and her family. It’s been 24 long, agonizing days since her 84-year-old mom, Nancy Guthrie, vanished from her home near Tucson, Arizona. What started as a quiet Sunday morning when Nancy didn’t show up for her virtual church service has turned into a nightmare no one saw coming.
In a raw, tearful video she posted on Instagram today (February 24), Savannah opened up about the pain they’ve been carrying. She described every hour since February 1 as pure “agony”—the constant fear, the aching worry, and above all, the deep missing of her mom, who was taken right from her bed in the middle of the night.

Savannah didn’t shy away from the hardest truth. She said the family knows it’s possible Nancy is already gone, maybe even “dancing in Heaven” with the Lord she loved so much. “If this is what is to be, then we will accept it,” she said. “But we need to know where she is. We need her to come home.”
That’s why the family has stepped up big time. They’ve boosted the reward to a full $1 million for any information that leads to Nancy’s recovery—or to an arrest in the case. It was previously $100,000, but they’re clearly desperate for that breakthrough.
On top of that, in a really touching move, they’re donating another $500,000 to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Savannah pointed out that they’re not the only ones hurting—millions of other families deal with this kind of uncertainty every day. She hopes the spotlight on their story helps shine some light on those other cases too.
Still, there’s this flicker of hope they’re holding onto. As Savannah’s sister Annie put it, they’re “blowing on the embers of hope.” The family believes in miracles, even now.

Savannah ended with a direct, heartfelt plea to anyone who might know something: If you’ve been hesitating, let this be your sign to come forward. Share what you know so they can either welcome Nancy home in a joyful miracle or at least honor the incredible life she lived—brave, beautiful, and full of courage. “Please be the light in the dark,” she said.
This comes after her earlier video from February 15, where she spoke straight to whoever might have her mom or know where she is: It’s never too late to do the right thing. You’re not alone, and the family is waiting with open hearts, believing in people’s basic goodness.
Nancy was last seen the evening of January 31 after having dinner with family. The next day, when she missed church, alarms went off. Authorities, led by Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, are treating it as a kidnapping—not some random burglary gone wrong. There’s surveillance footage of a masked person involved, and they’ve recovered a glove that seems to match what the suspect wore. A ransom demand was even made at one point, though the motive—money, revenge, or something else—remains unclear.
The sheriff has said thousands upon thousands of tips (up to 50,000) have poured in, but no solid leads have cracked the case yet. He insists they won’t stop, even if it takes years.
The FBI is heavily involved too, and they’re asking anyone with info to call 1-800-CALL-FBI (you can stay anonymous) or the Pima County Sheriff’s Office at 520-351-4900.
It’s heartbreaking to watch a family go through this, especially someone like Savannah who’s usually the one holding it together on TV. Sending all the prayers and hope that Nancy comes home soon—or at least that answers arrive for her loved ones.
