The girl was last seen leaving her home in the Santa Martha Acatitla neighborhood to go to a nearby store. According to family members, Perla Alison asked permission to buy a candy and never returned. Since then, a nationwide Amber Alert has been activated, prompting an intensive search by authorities and citizen groups.
The discovery occurred in a vacant lot near the Constitución de 1917 Metro station. A neighbor, alerted by a foul odor coming from an abandoned building, called 911. Officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) cordoned off the area, and later, forensic experts from the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City removed the body.
The Prosecutor’s Office reported that the body showed signs of violence and that an investigation has been opened for the crime of femicide. Initial indications suggest that the minor may have been a victim of abuse before being killed, although the autopsy results will officially determine the cause of death.

The news has caused profound outrage among the population, especially on social media, where Perla Alison’s case was widely publicized during the days of the search. Feminist groups and civil associations are demanding justice and exemplary punishment for whoever is responsible.
Francisco Rojas, the girl’s father, told the media: “They took our little girl from us. We have no words for this pain. We only ask that this not go unpunished and that no other family has to go through this.”
For her part, the head of government, Clara Brugada, expressed her dismay through her X account (formerly Twitter): “We deeply regret the death of Perla Alison. There are no words sufficient to express the pain this represents. We will reinforce security and work to ensure that this crime does not go unpunished.”
The Mexico City Attorney General’s Office has called on the public to provide any information that could help identify the perpetrator(s). Security camera footage is being reviewed, and the Cyber Police have been asked to assist in tracking down any potential leads.
Meanwhile, neighbors, family members, and schoolmates organized a vigil with candles, flowers, and drawings in front of Perla Alison’s house, as a sign of mourning and support.
