Richard Gere has been rushed to hospital in Mexico.

The actor was on vacation celebrating his wife’s 40th birthday.

But sadly, things took an awful turn for the 73-year-old.

The news has left people around the world very concerned.

It’s safe to say that Gere’s had a very successful long-spanning career.

However, the actor has found himself in some controversy over the years.

Gere is married to 40-year-old Alejandra Silva.

The pair married back in 2018 and their 33 year age gap has been a talking point ever since.

Many have slammed the age gap calling it ‘ridiculous.’

While others have come to the couple’s defence.

But, despite what others think of the age gap…

It doesn’t seem to affect their relationship in the slightest!

But now, some bad news has struck the Gere family.

Gere has been rushed to hospital in Mexico.

The actor reportedly fell ill while in Mexico with Alejandra and their children to celebrate her birthday.

According to TMZ, Gere developed a cough prior to their vacation.

And when it continued to get worse while in Mexico, he allegedly went to get checked out in the hospital.

The outlet reports that a source claims Gere has been diagnosed with pneumonia and treated overnight.

Alejandra has since shared on update on Gere’s condition.

And fans are very relieved…

Taking to Instagram, Alejandra wrote that Gere is “recovering.”

“I woke up this morning and I saw the news and all your kind and worry messages, he is recovering he is felling much better today,” she wrote.
