Photographs taken by proud parents-to-be throughout their pregnancies are frequently kept and cherished forever after the baby is born.
The joy and love felt in the weeks leading up to a new baby’s birth may be captured in beautiful maternity photos.
Dan Mozer, a soon-to-be father of two, snapped a very touching image of his pregnant wife, Angelina, while on a trip to Atlantic Beach in Jacksonville, Florida. The peaceful setting, a local favourite, made for a picture-perfect stage for their big day.
Dan snapped a couple photos of Angelina as she stood with her baby bulge against the beach, only to find a surprise subject in one of the frames.
At the very moment he pressed the shutter button, a dolphin sprang out of the water, providing him with a once-in-a-lifetime picture opportunity.
The pair was aware of dolphins in the vicinity, but they had no idea they would catch one mid-jump behind Angelina.
After taking the photo, Dan was disappointed that Angelina wasn’t there to see the dolphin’s jump with him.
The couple had their first child, a boy named Courtland, on January 27th, and they joke that he is responsible for the incredible shot because he called the dolphin to his mother’s womb.
Dan told Yahoo how they were tipped off to the dolphins’ existence and how the animal made two leaps, however he was more impressed with the first leap’s photo.
They had considered renaming their baby “Dolphin Finn,” but ultimately opted to preserve Courtland as their family’s official name.
They will always have the magical moment caught in the snapshot as a reminder of their love, anticipation, and the unexpected.
