We all think our pets are wonderful, but this tale of a stray pit bull with a kind heart and keen perceptions takes the biscuit.
According to a report from FOX23 News Tulsa, a local dog called Brutus won the hearts of everyone he met, and his adoptive family later learned that he had extraordinary senses that may aid their son, who was suffering from a seizure problem.
Brutus, a brown and white pit bull, was discovered by a neighbour in North Tulsa, Oklahoma, when he was frightened and alone in an abandoned home.
The concerned neighbour then made the call to Unchain Oklahoma, a shelter that takes in mistreated and abandoned animals.
The group found out later that Brutus was raised by a single mother after his family got into legal difficulties and ran away.
“The house was open,” Melody Parkins of Unchain OK explains to FOX23. There was dog chow on the floor. A lot of people’s stuff was still in there.”
While Melody and her husband were looking for a permanent home for Brutus, they fostered him. Brutus adapted to formal dog training straight immediately as they spent more time with him.
Eventually, Brutus found himself adopted by the Hawkins family, who already had a little son called Jason.
When Brutus initially moved in with Jason’s family, he tried to rouse Jason’s mother up in the middle of the night. Amber was suffering a seizure, and Brutus ultimately woke her up and took her to Jason’s room.
