In May 2019, he broke with royal family custom by appearing in St George’s Hall at Windsor Castle without a photocall.

His parents had stated that they wanted their son to become a private person. Archie, who turns five on May 6, is being nurtured in the affluent community of Montecito in Santa Barbara, California, following his parents’ migration.

His sister Princess Lilibet, who is two years old, is also being raised there.
With Prince Harry, 39, and Meghan, 42, balancing the nursery run with job responsibilities, he is well-established at preschool.

The red-haired child will get ready for kindergarten in the coming months, which is the first year of primary school. Richard Mineards, a resident of Montecito, says there are many excellent schools in the area.

“Our state schools are excellent; they are not like the public schools in England. Additionally, we have a fantastic school in their catchment area called Cold Spring School, which has excellent ratings,” he stated on HELLO!’s A Right Royal Podcast.

Though the Sussexes provided a glimpse into family life in their 2022 Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, hardly many official images of Archie have been made public. He is having the time of his life, taking care of the hens, walking their three dogs, and helping bake courgette muffins.

The Sussexes in Windsor for the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

In 2021, Harry said to US chat show host Oprah Winfrey, “To have outdoor space where I can go for walks with Archie and we go for walks as a family and with the dogs – you know, we go on hikes or go down to the beach, which is so close.”

Archie is also being made aware of the fact that there are people who are not as lucky as him by the Duke and Duchess. “They are teaching Archie that some people live in big houses, some in small houses, and that some are in between homes,” Meghan said in a 2022 The Cut profile. They prepared packs to distribute that included granola bars, peanut butter crackers, and water. “I consumed one!” adds Archie.

Before spending his first six months of life in the Sussexes’ previous residence, Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor estate, Archie had his first taste of snow in Canada while Harry and Meghan were vacationing on Vancouver Island for six weeks.

He was adorable when he was five months old during the royal visit of South Africa, which was his only formal engagement with his parents. He also demonstrated a liking of books at a young age, chuckling when Meghan read Duck! Rabbit! to him on his first birthday in 2020.

Celebrating little sister Lilibet’s first birthday

His mother stated that he “loves being a big brother” and that he witnessed Lilibet blow out her first birthday candles. The family celebrated Lilibet’s first birthday in the UK in June 2022, during Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee festivities.
Harry and Meghan’s first priorities are Archie and Lilibet; the Duke hurriedly returned to the US following his attendance at the King’s coronation, which fell on his son’s fourth birthday.
